The Bicycle Wheel Decorating Contest came about through collaboration with the Salinas Valley Fair in celebration of the Amgen Bicycle Event. Debra Cobb, Program Manager at Sol Treasures remarks, “the intent of the contest was to celebrate the Amgen tour of California coming to King City and engage the community to create art in a unique way. The contest was open to all in South Monterey County, and both Cobb and TJ Plew of the Salinas Valley Fair are pleased with the level of participation, including individuals, classrooms, businesses, and community groups.  In true King City fashion, the city embraced the event with enthusiasm and creativity.
