Sol Treasures joins with Karen and John Jernigan inviting you to step back in time at the Sol Treasures Gallery and Gift Shop. You will experience the City of King from years ago. Vintage reproductions from the Jernigan’s photo collection are on display at Sol Treasures along with a 16 mm film circa 1949, showing the glimpses of King City life from a bygone era. A special interview with Josephine Koester occurred; Mrs. Koester recounted some early stories and fond tales about our city. 

Alex Arce, former owner ofKing City Photo hasphotographed a modern day replica of the photo collection from the locations featured in the Jernigan’s photos. You can see a side-by-side comparison of how much our city has grown and changed

Casey’s Printinghas displayed some vintage items related to the early publishing days of The Rustler.

 Monterey County Agricultural and Rural Life Museum (MCARLM) has contributed some City of King memorabilia to the exhibit.

Karen and John are also offering walking tours of the city on designated days and by appointment.

A Meet the Artist event is scheduled for Friday, August 24th at Sol Treasures from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Following this event at 6:00 p.m., guests may also enjoy our last summer Backyard Concert featuring the incomparable Los Vaqueros Hunting Club Traveling Band.
